NY: Salonen, Bach and Hindmith

Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts the New York Philharmonic in his own works about mythological twin brothers, Pollux the demigod and Castor the mortal, with music to match their temperaments. Plus, radiant strings, stirring chorales, and noble brasses evoke paintings 鈥� 鈥淭he Concert of Angels,鈥� 鈥淭he Entombment,鈥� and 鈥淭he Temptation of St. Anthony鈥� 鈥� by the 16th-century German painter Matthias Gr眉newald, subject of Hindemith鈥檚 Mathis der Maler.
